Mr and Mrs Hunt will be received in Audience

by Her Majesty on Wednesday, 14 April. The following

is a short curriculum vitae:

Mr Rex Masterman Hunt CMG (1980)

Mr Hunt has been Governor and Commander-in-Chief

of the Falkland Islands since February 1980.

He is also High Commissioner, British Antarctic

Territory. Born on 29 June 1926, Mr Hunt served

in the Royal Air Force from 1944 to 1948.

He joined Her Majesty's Overseas Civil Service.

and served in Uganda from 1951 to 1963, retiring

in 1963 as District Commissioner. He then joined

the Commonwealth Relations Office. He has served

in Kuching (1964), Jesselton (1965), Brunei (1967

and Jakarta (1970). He went to Saigon in 1974

as Counsellor and was evacuated in April 1975

on the fall of Saigon. Before going to Port

Stanley he served in Kuala Lumpur.

Married 1951 (Mavis Amanda

Buckland).

Two children (a dauther (1962) and a son (1964).
