6. A publicly subscribed donation towards some charitable
fund or to help the Falkland Islanders after their liberation might prove much less difficult. Indeed the Cayman Islanders
have had such a subscription and reportedly raised £20,000.
SAMD say that there may well be suitable projects after liberation
such as the provision of a cargo or tourist vessel. (A ship should
have been provided by HMG under a 1971 agreement but this was never implemented). Other ideas are the extension of the runway at Port Stanley and the financing of a meat freezing plant.
