TERMS OF SERVICE

1. HOURS OF WORK

Normal hours of work shall be:

Deck and Engineroom Departments. In port and at sea (1) Watchkeepers - 40 hours a week

(2) Dayworkers

2. OVERTIE

8 hours a day Monday to Friday

One hour on Sunday or Holiday as defined

in clause 10 (Sunday or Holiday work to be limited as far as possible to routine and

sanitary duties)

Or such hours as may be directed by the Master

but in any event not more than 40 hours per week.

Any hours worked in excess of the hours mentioned in clause í above, or in excess of the total normal working hours, except hours' necessary in cases of sailing from or arriving at a port or of emergency (see note (i) below), shall be compensated by the rates shown as follows, by (a) overtime payment, (Bosun, Carpenter and "ates, Fitter Pumpman, No.1 Fireman, FR Storekeeper, Chief Cock, Chief and 2nd Steward. (HK$17.00p.h.) All other ratings (HK$13.00p.h.) except 1st year trainee (HK$7.00p.h.), 2nd year trainee (HK$9.00p.h.).

Note (1) Emergency Duty - Any hours of duty necessary in case of EMERGENCY affecting the safety of the vessel, passengers, crew or cargo, of which the Master shall be the sole judge, or for fire, boat or emergency drill, or work required to give assistance to other vessels or persons in immediate peril.

(ii) A statement of overtime hours worked shall be provided to and agreed with each seaman are intervals. not exceeding one month if the seaman is entitled to (a) above.

3. HATCHES AND OTHER DUTIES

(i) A seaman shall open and close hatch covers or deep. tank lids, clean our holds or cargo tanks and carry out any other duties connected with preparing the vessel for loading or discharging of cargo or for the safety of the vessel and/or cargo as and when required by the

Master.

(ii) Each quartermaster shall assist with mooring and unmooring. (iii)Each seaman is to assist in towage service.

(iv) Each sailor, quartermaster and winchman shall work cargo and MOD(N) stores and when required at sea or in port. No extra payments. to be claimed in respect of this work: the normal overtine clause applies.

(v) Each member of the crew will assist in the cleaning of passenger and troop accommodation as required.
