Next Quarter Target
To establish a tertiary institute for training in the performing arts.
To review the existing policy on fireworks display.
To set up a training centre for sports.
Provisional Council ap- pointed and staffing of its supporting secretariat approved.
A Vetting Committee com- prises of official and unofficial members has been set up and 1st meeting held.
(1) Centre ready for
operation. Formal opening of the Centre coinciding with the opening of the FESPIC Games held on 31 October by the Duke and Duchess of Kent.
(2) The Board has re-
quested Government to assist in future capital funding of the Centre.
To keep in view construction progress, and to revise drafting instructions for a bill to set up the Academy by legislation.
To draw up guidelines for the Vetting Committee.
To consider and arrive at a decision on the Board's request for future Govern- ment financial assistance.
