8. Reorganisation of the
Customs and Excise
Department
To improve and
expand enforcement
in the fields of
customs & excise
and trade controls
Reorganisation of
of the Department
was
conducted in two stages:
(a) internal re-structuring of
the Trade Controls
Investigation and Operation
Branches and the Customs and
Excise Service;
(b) integration of the two units.
The Trade Controls Branches and
the Customs and Excise Service
have been re-structured.
As a
first step to integrate the two
units, the Trade Controls
Investigation Branch is being
amalgamated with the Customs and
Excise Service.
To complete the
integration of the
Trade Controls
Inviestigation Brand
with the Customs &
Excise Service.
