Purpose
To clarify the role of sheltered workshops in the rehabilitation process; to re-examine subvention policy and incentive payments in the light of such clarifications.
To reorganize the operation of special and resource classes with a view to providing a spectrum of
special educational services for children with learning difficulties studying in ordinary schools.

Fre-school Training and education for Disabled Children (New Item)
procedures for handling mentally-disturbed persons with a disposition to violence and to make recommendations.
To conduct a general review of the existing policy and provision of pre-school care, training and educ tion of disabled children including the adequacy or otherwise of existing services, the respective role of child care centres and preparatory classes etc.

The Working Party held its eighth meeting on 22 October 1982.

A pilot scheme involving 45 classes was launched in September 1982.
