26 candidates were recommended for appointment

as a result of the recruitment exercise carried out in

1981 in Hong Kong. Offers of appointment have been made

to 24 candidates, of whom 4 have declined, and 20 have

accepted (including 3 expatriates). As at 1 February 1982,

18 have reported for duty, as has one experienced candidate,

a former army officer.

The overall outcome of the 1981/82 AO recruitment

exercise, including in-service transfers, is forecast to

be as follows :-

Recruitment of Administrative Officers 1982-83

10.

Administrative Officer recruitment exercises are

now under way in Hong Kong, and through the Hong Kong

Government Office (for local candidates) and the Civil

Service Commission (for British candidates) in the United

Kingdom. A target of 50 new recruits has been set, on

the advice of the PSC.
