Middle Income Housing

To provide housing for purchase by families with

household incomes

in excess of $6,500 p.m.

Following the adoption of revised pricing arrangements for the Home Ownership Scheme, consideration has been given to exclusion of land values from the sale price of Middle Income Housing flats;

sites tentatively identified for the production of approximately 2,500 flats p.a. from 1984/85 onwards.

5. Housing

Authority Membership

To increase the permissible unofficial membership of the Housing Authority.

With the advent of District Administration the current permissible unofficial membership of the Authority (13, of whom 8 shall be Urban Councillors) is no longer considered appropriate. One of the provisions of the Housing (Amendment) Bill is to remove the limit on unofficial membership, and the requirement for a specified number of Urban Councillors to be appointed.

To introduce the Housing

(Amendment) Bill into Legislative Council.
