Progress made and present position
The creation of essential posts for the department were approved by the Establishment Sub-Committee of the Finance Committee.
The draft conditions of land grants for the two sites at Kwai Chung and Kowloon Bay for industrial training complexes of the VTC are under amendment to take into account the increase in area of the two sites.
Next quarter target
To monitor progress.
To provide more effective arrangements through the UPGC for determining the academic development of and subventions to the College.

The Governor-in-Council has given approval for the Baptist College to come under the ambit of the University and Polytechnic Grants Committee (UPGC) in 1984/85. Standing Committee has been set up by the Secretary for Education to monitor the transitional arrangements at the Baptist College in the interim period. The report of the Council for National Academic Awards (CNAA) on the second round of assessment exercise at the Baptist College was reviewed in February 82.
