(iii)There has been a four-

month delay in cor- pleting the terrs for engaging a consultant for the financial evaluation study.

(iv) A further approach has

been made via NCHA to CAAC Canton on holding air space management talks. A response is still awaited.

A third joint working session (between the replacement airport consultants and Govern- ment officials) will he held at the end of May, to revise the Programme and com- nletion dates of the airport master plan and related studios.

(b) As regards Deen Bay:

At a meeting chaired by CS on 11 February to con- sider the Deep Ray Preli- minary feasibility study report, a decision was taken not to proceed with a full-scale consultancy.

To get the study launched in May 1982, and to catch up on time lost where possible.

To hold talks with CAAC Canton as soon as possible.

To update the replace ment airport planning programme.

After consulting the Aviation Advisory Board, to put a memorandum to ExCo

inviting ExCo to note the decision.
