To conduct clinical trials on buprenorph- ine, a possible non- addictive substitute for methadone.

Progress Made and Present Position
Views of overseas practitioners using buprennorphine in treating drug addicts were sought by the working committee. Technical details of the trial was being finalized.
Next Quarter's Target
To finalize the protocol
and to start the clinical
trial in May/June 1982, pending Finance Committee's approval of fund.
