To extend the FM service in Hong Kong in line with the ExCo decision of 10.7.79 (that an interim VHF/FM Transmission Plan/FM Transmission Plan should be introduced to provide for up to four territory- wide services (which would incorporate the facility for Commercial Radio to introduce VHF/FM services of limited coverage) to duplicate in FM existing MF services and to enlarge the service area of existing VHF/FM broadcasts)
A meeting was held in February with the Fost Office, Civil Aviation Department & Radio Tele- vision Hong Kong to discuss the problems highlighted by the consultant's report. In view of considerations of air safety, alternative options were suggested. These would need to be carefully considered.
To consider alternative options and, if necessary, to approach ExCo for advice.
