(a) Fast Opinion Survey
Scheme (FOSS)
(a) To devise a scheme for
fast collection and presentation of repre- sentative public opinion.
(a) Two Fo££ capcrimental
surveys were carried out in February. Staff in District Offices and City Dis- trict Offices were deployed to act as supervisors and in- terviewers after being given training. The aim was to determine whether or not repre- sentative public opinion on an issue could be obtained within 48 hours. The
experience gained in these experimental surveys is being evaluated.
(a) To develop the scheme with a view to making it available to Government as a
management tool.
