Legislation to protect Imported Cultural Objects
Review of the Control of Publications Consolidation Ordinance (Cap. 268)
To formulate a policy on the development of sports.
To consider necessary legis- lation to indemnify imported cultural objects against seizure and loss or damages.
To review and consider whether this Ordinance, particularly the suppression provisions, should be repealed.
(2) The Board has requested Government to assist in future capital funding of the Centre.
Paper identifying various aspects of a policy on sports was considered by the Council for Recreation and Sports. Interdepart- mental meeting was held to consider how a working group should be set up to formulate the policy.
Discussion has been held with Director of Cultural Services on his initial proposal for legislative protection.
AG has advised no legal objection to repealing the main parts of this Ordinance.
To convene meetings of the working group.
To formulate proposal and consult departments and branches.
To convene inter- departmental meetings to review the Ordinance.

Film Censorship
To introduce a system for categorising films and to restrict the age of audiences for "adult only" film by law.
Policy approval in princi- ple given to CTEL. Detailed proposal being worked out by CTEL, and District Boards being consulted.
To keep in view CTEL' detailed proposals with a view to issuing drafting instructions by November 1982.
