Progress Made and Present Position

(d) necessary arrangements for setting

up and equipping 174 polling stations and 8 centres for counting of votes and for obtaining the necessary staff to man them.

Fitting out work for the secure workshop has commenced and its completion target set at 1st November. Order placed with Bank of England for design. Equipment ordered and due for delivery during December. Base material samples and new laminate samples under test. Staff being selected and vetted. Production scheduled early 1983.

Stage I computer equipment delivered and installed in new computer room at the Immigration Department's new Headquarters at Mirror Tower.

Technical design completed. Programme coding in progress.

Next Quarter Target

Monitor progress up

to production.

Stage II equipment to be installed.

Finish coding.

Start link testing. Finalize

network design.
