Steering Group tɔ evaluate a pilot study of noise abatement measures in schools

To evaluate the pilot study and to recommend noise abatement

(a) A pilot scheme involving seven schools has commenced in September 1981 to examine the effectiveness of various noise

abatement measures in schools.

(b) A Steering Group to monitor the scheme and to evaluate the results of the study has been set up with a view to recommending appropriate noise abatement

measures

in schoo

ols. Regular

feedback is collected by the Building Services Engineer and the Inspectors of the Education Department. Action is in

the

hand to conduct a survey on number of noise affected schools by the Environmental Protection Agency.
