To lift the statutory moratorium on building development in the mid- levels and to introduce new geotechnical controls to allow the safe develop- ment of Mid-levels lots within existing lease restrictions.
On 20th October 1981 following consideration of memorandum XCC(81)115 (Gloucester Road Flyover) the Governor in Council ordered that the Attorney General should proceed urgently to consider possible amendments to the Streets (Alteration) Ordinance. A Working Group was subsequently set up under the chairmanship of the AG.
Progress Made & Present Position
reclamation, the predicted base year population, and the potential for redevelopment etc.
Ordinance and Regulations enacted.
The Roads (Works, Use and Compensa- tion) Bill was enacted.
Next Quarter Targets
Monitor progress of the consultants' work on alternative development strate- gies (completion early 1983).
