Purpose
To provide up-to-date information on the present and future availability of land for all purposes in a land production programme.
To prepare a strategy for development of new areas having regard to:
(a) the development
potential of these
areas;
(b) Government's policy
objectives; and
(c) resource constraints.
Progress Made & Present Position
The 1982 report of the Special Committee on Land Supply has been published, with recommendations of the Working Group on Private Sector Participation in Land Production annexed to it, following ExCo's approval of those recommendations.
Development Strategy Formulation: submissions in respect of the overall framework, broad methodology and policy assumption endorsed by LDPC
Next Quarter Targets

On top of its mainstreamy. task, SCLS to examine th following issues:
(i) urban renewal; (ii) temporary use of
vacant Crown land;
(iii) policy on the
supply of industri land;

To set up a consultancy to consider the concept of a development corpo- ration in implementing urban renewal, as recommended by the Work- ing Group on Private Sector Participation in Land Production.
