To consider physical or financial measures in order to speed the flow of traffic through the tunnel.

On 20th July the Governor-in-Council in considering certain proposals, directed that measures to reduce congestion in and around the CHT continue to be examined.

To implement recommendations by the Steering Group on the Revision of the Road Traffic Legislation, and generally to update all of Chapter 220 and subsidiary legislat- ion thereafter.

Additional re Harbour Crossing

To decide the sequence of providing additional crossings and the implications.

(a) A bridge at Lyemun is the preferred

option for the next harbour crossing. subject to no adverse effect on the Instrument Landing System (ILS) at Kai Tak. A consultancy on the ILS implications is proceeding.
