Purpose
To enable con- sultants, on a task basis, to examine the technical aspects of electricity generation by the two major power companies
To replace the present
Ordinance, which is cut of date. The aim is to seek ExCo's endorsement of a number of proposed changes, which will form the basis of
drafting
instructions
for the new Bill.
Progress made and present position
Next quarter target
The consultants, Burns & Roe, submitted their preliminary report in early July. Examination of the draft by the Government and the power companies started immediately.
The draft ExCo memorandum was agreed by all interested Branches and Departments.
The Government will discuss the preliminary report with the power companies and pass all comments to the

consultants for compiling their final report, which should be ready by October.
To issue to ExCo in August 1982.
