The Chief Secretary:outlined the developments in the

menstructure of government which had taken place since 1981,

and informed Members that it was now. intended to proceed

to the next stage, a re-organisation of schedules in the

Government Secretariat.nr. tilawata

To this end the Secretary for Social Services would

A become the Secretary for Health and Welfare, responsible

mes for all aspects of medical and health services, social

welfare (including child welfare), environmental hygiene

would become the Secretary for Education and Labour,

responsible for all levels of education, labour matters

and rehabilitation. The Secretary for Home Affairs would

would be re-titled the Secretary for District Administration.

It was planned that these changes should take effect from

1 December 1982. The Chief Secretary said he would refer
