I have the honour to refer to Mr. Cape's letter dated 1 December 1980, further renewing for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland the declaration, made in Mr. Boothby's letter of 14 January 1966, of recognition of the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights. I also have the honour to refer to the letters commencing with Mr. Boothby's letter dated 12 September 1967 and concluding with Mr. Mallia-Testaferrata's letter of 1 September 1977, containing respectively a declaration in respect of certain territories for the international relations of which the Government of the United Kingdom were responsible, and renewals thereof.
On instructions from Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, I now have the honour to inform you that the Government of the United Kingdom hereby renew, in respect of the territories for the international relations of which they are responsible, specified in the list annexed to this letter, the declaration, made in Mr. Boothby's letter dated 12 September 1967, of recognition of the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights, further prolonging, in respect of the territories specified on that list, for five years beginning on 14 January 1981 and ending on 13 January 1986, the period of recognition of such jurisdiction. Except in relation to the date of expiry of this period, the terms of the declaration of 12 September 1967 shall remain unaffected.

I have the honour to refer to Mr. Boothby's letter dated 14 January 1966, declaring, in accordance with the provisions of Article 46 of the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, signed at Rome on 4 November 1950, the recognition by the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, in respect of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland only and not, pending further notification, in respect of any other territory for the international relations of which the Government of the United Kingdom are responsible, of the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights.
On instructions from Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, I now have the honour to inform you that the Government of the United Kingdom hereby declare, on behalf of Anguilla, that they recognise in respect of Anguilla, for the period of five years beginning on 14 January 1981 and ending on 13 January 1986, the jurisdiction of the European Court of Human Rights as compulsory ipso facto and without special agreement, on condition of reciprocity, in all matters arising on or after 14 January 1981 concerning the interpretation and application of the Convention as extended to Anguilla.

On instructions from Her Majesty's Principal Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, I now have the honour to inform that the Government of the United Kingdom hereby renew, on behalf of me Bailiwick of Jersey, the declaration, made in Mr. Foster's letter dated 30 July 1976, of acceptance of the competence of the Commission to receive petitions from persons, non-governmental organisations or groups of individuals, further prolonging for five years beginning on 14 January 1981 and ending on 13 January 1986, the period of acceptance of such competence. Except in relation to the date of the expiry of this period, the terms of the declaration of 30 July shall remain unaffected.
