Problem
At commencement of the 1981 Act the present nationality description appearing in passports will be replaced by one of the three new citizenships.
What changes should be made to our passport format and
procedures?

(a) the current passport format be retained;
(b)
the nationality description be 'British citizen' (BC), 'British Dependent Territories citizen' (BDTC) followed on a separate line by the name of the dependency or 'British Overseas citizen' (BOC), as appropriate.
