BRITISH NATIONALITY ACT 1981: PASSPORT PROCEDURES
1. Please refer to your minute of 5 February.

I suggest the following amendments be made to the submission to make it clear that it relates only to our UK and NI passports and the procedures of our UK passport offices and FCO posts abroad:

The last sentence of the Problem to read 'What changes should be made to our UK NI passport format and the procedures of our UK passport offices and FCO posts overseas?'
Recommendation to (e) to read 'the passport of a BDTC or a BOC issued by UK passport offices or FCO post overseas continue to be endorsed 'holder does not have the right of abode as appropriate'
The last sentence of the Background to read 'There will be a continuing need to endorse passports issued to BDTC and BOC by UK Passport Offices or FCO posts overseas, so as to make it clear that the holders do not have the right of abode in the UK..
3. In addition I think that the submission should incorporate the point at paragraph 2 (iii) of your minute about there being no need for dependencies to alter their passport procedures except for the description of citizenship.
