Short title and commencement.
Arendment of section 2 of Cap. 79.

an Ordinance to amend the Interpretation and Genoral Clauses Ordinance (Chapter 79).
Enacted by the Legislature of Gibraltar.
1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Intermetation and Genor:1
Clauses (Anerdient) (No.2) Crdinance, 1982.

(2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on the 1st day of
January, 1982.
Section 2 of the Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance is amended
(a) by inserting after the definition "boat", the following new
definition:
"British Dependent Territories citizen by virtue of a connection with Gibraltar' means
{"(a)
"(b)-
a person who is a British Dependent Territories citizen virtue of any provision of any of sections 15, 16, 17, 1 and 19 of the British Nationality Act, 1981, where the dependent territory referred to in every such provision that is material to his becoming such a citizen in Gibraltar;".
a person, being a British Dependent Territories citizen, who becomes such a citizen on the comencenont of the British Nationality Act, 1981, under section 23 of that Act, where the dependent territory referred to in every provision in that section that is material to his becomin such a Citizen in Gibraltar;"; Y
(b) by omitting the definition 'Gibraltarian', and substituting
the following definition:
"Gibraltarian' means a person who is defined as a Gibraltarian in section 3 of the Gibraltarian Status Ordinance ;".
