an Crdinance to amend the Gibraltarian Status Ordinance (Chapter 70).
Enacted by the legislature of Gibraltar.
1. (1) This Ordinance may be cited as the Gibraltarian Status
(Amendment) Ordinance, 1982.
(2) This Ordinance shall come into operation on
the 1st day of January, 1983.

The Gibraltarian Status Ordinance (hereinafter called the principal Ordinance) is amended by repealing section 3, and
substituting the following section:
"Definition
of
Gibraltarian.
3. A Gibraltarian is a person who
(a) is a British citizen by virtue of
registration under section 5 of the
British Nationality Act, 1981; or
'(b) is a British Dependent Territories
citizen by virtue of a connection with
Gibraltar; or
"(c) is otherise entitled to be registered
or is registered as a Gibraltarian in
the register. "
Section 4 of the principal Ordinance is amended by adding the
following new subsection:
"(4) There shall be entitled to be registered at any time any
person to whom paragraph (a) or paragraph (b) of section 3
refers.
