In exercise of the powers conferred upon me by section 29(1) of the British Nationality Act 1948(a), as extended and amended by section 4(7) of the Cyprus Act 1960(b), section 3(2) of the British Nationality Act 1964(C), section 6(2) of the British Nationality (No.2) Act 1964(d) and section 5(2) of the British Nationality Act 1965(e), I hereby make with the consent, so far as Regulations 3 and 5 are concerned, of the Treasury the following Regulations:-
1. These Regulations may be cited as the British Nationality (Amendment) Regulations 1982 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1982.

In these Regulations any reference to the principal Regulations is a reference to the British Nationality Regulations 1975(1).

In Regulation 28 of the principal Regulations (fees) –

after paragraph (1) there shall be inserted the following paragraph:-
"(1A) The fee payable in respect of the registration of a person as a citizen of the United Kingdom and Colonies or a British subject under any provision of the British Nationality Acts 1948 to 1965 or in respect of the grant to a person of a certificate of naturalisation shall be payable on the submission of his application for such registration or,
as the case may be, such a certificate.";
in paragraph (2) (which relates to the fee payable in respect of a wife's registration or naturalisation)(B), for the figure "£50.00" there shall be substituted the figure "£70";
