Nationality and Treaty Department have compiled a useful representative list of multilateral agreements applicable to Hong Kong. The list covers the period 1950 to date. It is not comprehensive, nor in date or subject order. In some cases Hong Kong has been specified by name and in others the Agree- ment was extended to all territories under the territorial sovereignty of the UK.

Defence Department

Defence Costs Agreement (DCA) of April 1981. By this the Hong Kong Government agree to pay 75% of the total cost of the garrison. In 1980/81 this was £72 million of which the UK share
was £18 m.
4. Trade Relations and Exports Department
Two of the nineteen bilateral Investment Promotion and Protection Agreement which the UK has signed have been extended to Hong Kong:
a.
Korea/UK IPPA signed 4 March 1976, extended
to Hong Kong July 1976;
b. Sri Lanka/UK IPPA signed 13 February 1980,
extended to Hong Kong in June 1981.

Hong Kong attends the Commonwealth Finance. Ministers' Meeting as part of UK Delegation.

there is a branch of the Commonwelath Parliamentary Association in Hong Kong;
Hong Kong makes a voluntary contribution to the Commonwealth Foundation and participates in meetings of Board of Trustees;
Hong Kong attends meetings of Commonwealth Secretariat as part of UK Delegation.
