I give below a schedule of manpower briefing meetings which I propose to hold in my office (CG 107) with each overseas inspection team before they go off on the Spring round of inspections:-

I should be grateful if you or your Assistant could attend the appropriate meeting. In addition to the Inspection team and myself, POD and PPD will be represented.
2. I realise that at these meetings we cover some of the same ground which Heads of Department tend to go over with Inspectors at individual briefing sessions. But in present circumstances, where we must find manpower savings through Inspections and are having to take difficult staffing decisions, I think that it is most desirable that the briefing from the Heads of geographical Departments should be co-ordinated with that provided by Personnel Policy Department and Personnel Operations Department. To avoid duplication, I suggest that you should arrange an individual briefing session with the Inspectors after this meeting only if you and the Inspectors think that there are additional points which require to be covered in more detail.
