Further to Geoff Barnes' letter to you dated 20th October 1980, I am now in a position to let you know the findings of the exhaustive enquiry that has been conducted by the Complaints Against Police Office in this case. It concerns the Small Boat Unit (SBU) and not a unit described in the translation as the Special Border Unit which does not exist.
I think it best if you have a copy of the letter which I have received from the Police giving the outcome of the enquiry. Please feel free to make such use of it as seems best.
