She will further state that the flat immediately above the deceased had been empty, at the time the deceased was found, for about two weeks and that the deceased's flat is the end flat. She will say that no reports were made to her of any strangers in the area on the morning of 15.1.80. She will state that the only way any person could get out of the flat if the door was bolted would be by lowering themselves down a rope attached to the window.

Mr KONG Churk-hoi, Sub-divisional Inspector of Kowloon City will state that he was summoned to the scene of a suspected suicide case at flat 410B, 19, Homantin Hill Rd. Single uarter by the DS KC Mr. J. Trotman. He arrived at the scene at about 1220 hrs. He will state that he conducted an inspection of the premises and noticed that the curtains where drawn and that all the window of the premises were closed. Although the main door and the bedroom doors had been broken into by the Police party there were ample signs to show that the doors were originally securely locked from the inside of the premises. There was no evidence to show that the premises had been ransacked or broken into.

He will further state that he took the suicide note and placed it in his safe custody.

He will say that he saw the pathologists examining the body and that he noticed a Police .38 revolver number 4894 lying on the floor beside the body. He did not see any wine bottles in the bedroom. He will say that he was present when the Ballistics officers examined the scene and when photographs were taken by Identification Branch.

He will further state that between 1310 hrs and 1640 hrs, he, together with Mr. Trotman, Mr. Pelly and Insp. P. Peters conducted a search of the premises and packed the deceased's personal property which was later removed to Kowloon City Station and taken over by him for safe custody.

Mr. M.N.W. Pelly SP will further state that he arrived at the scene of the suicide at 1235 hrs on 15.1.80 and saw the body of the deceased in the bedroom. He also witnessed part of the examination by the Pathologists and Ballistics officers. He also carried out an inspection of the premises and noted that all the windows were closed and locked and that there did not appear to have been any sign of a third parties presence prior to the arrival of the Police nor any sign of a struggle. He will further state that, he, together with Mr. Trotman, Mr. KONG Churk-hoi and Insp. P. Peters conducted a search of the premises and helped to pack the deceased's personal property. He took over various items, mainly documentary, for his safe keeping.
