The bedroom door was forced open at about 1155 hrs.

He He was the first person to enter followed by Mr. Trotman. switched on the lights and found the deceased lying by the side of the bed. At his feet was a revolver. He felt the deceased's body and there did not appear to be any sign of life.

He was dressed in a cardigan, shirt and trousers. There appeared to be five bullet holes in his chest and a quantity of blood in the area of suspected bullet holes. Mr. Trotman made a number of phone calls and summoned the Ballistics Officers, Forensic Pathologist and ambulance. After the arrival of the Forensic Pathologist who certified that the deceased was dead he left the scéne but prior to leaving he arranged for the scene to be phtographed by Mr. POON Ngok-ming, the photographer from Identification Branch.

Frederick Craig Loughrin, a Senior Inspector of Police attached to the Special Investigation Unit will state that on 15th January 1980 he was a member of an SIU party under Mr. M. Guinn that went to Homantin Police Station to arrest the deceased. Whilst at Homantin he remained in the compound. He accompanied Mr. Quinn and party to the deceased's quarters in Homantin Hill Ad. He will state that he showed Mr. Stevens from Hampton Winter and Glynn a search warrant No. 1124 for flat B410, 14, Homantin Hill Rd issued on 30th November 1979. He will state that he accompanied the SIU party, the Manageress, Mr. Trotman and Mr. Stevens to the deceased's flat and that he remained outside when the door was forced open. Once entry was gained he learned from Quinn that he had found a note which indicated that the deceased had committed suicide.

At a later stage he entered the deceased's flat where he was asked to count of number of bullet holes in the body. He went into the bedroom and saw the deceased lying prostrate on the floor beside the bed. He counted four bullet holes in the chest region. He later learnt that there were five bullet holes, one being in the abdominal region. After the arrival of the Pathologist he left the scene.

Mr. TIN Chat-man, an Inspector of Police sttached to the Special Investigation Unit will state that at 0930 hrs on 15.1.80 he attended a briefing at Police HQ given by Chief Inspector Quinn. He was instructed to accompany the arresting party to Homantin Police Station to arrest the deceased. He and the SIU party arrived at Homantin Station at 1025 hrs. He will corroborate the evidence of Chief Inspector vuinn as to the events leading up to the finding of the deceased dead in his quarter in Homantin Hill Rd. He will state that he did not enter the deceased's bedroom.

77.

Mr. Jack Trotman, Divisional Superintendent of Kowloon City Division, will state that the deceased was posted to Kowloon City Division from the New Territories on 12th December, 1978 and from that date until he died he was OC of an investigation team in Homantin Sub-division.
