Please Please tell my family.
this was an accident and
that I was a good Police Officer.

have referred to this document as an alleged suicide note,
although the wording, including the use of the past tense,
implies that it is meant to be a suicide note.
My further opinion is that Detective Inspector Maclennan also
wrote part of an entry in the Beat Equipment Register,
reading:

D.I. Maclennan
I am also of the opinion that the word 'Maclennan', in both
instances, has been written as a signature, rather than a
name.
