Analysis of arrivals at Lowu from 19 to 25 January 1981 of travellers holding travel documents issued in the People's Republic of China

Within this period 843 documents were recorded, covering 1072 travellers. The great majority were valid for return of the 116 single journey permits recorded in this period, 10 were issued in Guangzhou; 103 were issued in places in Guangdong Province other than Guangzhou; 1 in Guizhou, 1 in Sichuan and 1 in Nei Mongol. Permits were issued for varying periods of validity (in the case of single journey permits the period refers to the time within which the permit had to be used). Of the 843 :-

were valid for 3 months when issued were valid for 6 months when issued were valid for 1 year when issued

No permit was valid for more than 1 year when issued

Within this period no permit issued in Fujian Province was valid for more than 1 year and 97% were for one year. 93% of the permits issued in Guangzhou were valid for one year.
