Thank you for your letter of 27 July about the Lord's amendment which would give Gibraltarians a right to acquire British citizenship.
The Government have made clear their
opposit on to
anything in the Nationality Bill which would discriminate in favour of Gibraltar. I am now considering with
my colleagues the full implicati ns of the Lords' amendment and our future course of action.
