Proposed amendments to British Nationality Bill 1981 to permit British (Dependent Territories) Citizens to register as British citizens
Insert after clause 3 the following new clause
"Acquisition
by registration:
British (Dependent Territories)
citizens.
3A. A British (Dependent Territories) citizen shall be entitled, on an
application for his registration as a British citizen, to be so registered if the Secretary of State is satisfied
that the applicant fulfils the requirements of paragraph 3 of Schedule 1
Schedule 1 is amended
Consequential amendments to Schedule 1.

by deleting the heading and substituting the following
"REQUIREMENTS FOR REGISTRATION OR NATURALISATION",
and
Page 42, by deleting line 24 and substituting
"Registration or naturalisation as a British
citizen under section 3A or 4(2)";
Page 42, line 25 by inserting after "requirements
for" the following
-
"registration or";
Page 42, line 26 by inserting before "4(2)" the following
"3A or".
