Amendments
to make better provision for the acquisition
of citizenship by reason of marriage
to clause 4 Page 5, line 22, insert after "person" the following
", not being a British (Dependent
Territories) citizen,"

New clause 4 A
Add after clause 4 the following new clause
"Acquisition
by spouses who are
British
(Dependent Territories) citizens.
4A.
H
(1) Subject to subsection
(2), a British (Dependent Territories)
citizen who has been married to a British
citizen shall be entitled, on application,
to be registered as a British citizen,
whether or not he or she is of full
age or capacity.

(2) A person who has renounced
or has been deprived of British
(Dependent Territories) citizenship
under this Act shall not be entitled to
be registered as a British citizen under
this section but may be so registered
with the approval of the Secretary of
State.".
