Hong Kong's other radio station, Commercial Radio, does not at present use any of the transcription service programmes, but they have expressed interest in the past, and may do so again.

RTHK now pays of the order of £5,000 for this programme material. I hope, if the service is actually terminated, that much or all of this material can be made available for sale overseas through "BBC Enterprises" If this were so, RTHK will probably be able to afford some of the programmes, but they might have to be selective.

John Tisdall, Director of Broadcasting, has been in London on leave recently (indeed may still be there) and is going into the professional aspects of this with the B.B.C. (you will remember that he is seconded to Hong Kong from the BBC). He will be back in Hong Kong soon and can then report to me what he has found out.
