Demand for Primary School Places

Since primary education is compulsory, the demand for places

in the public sector is represented by the total population in the appropriate

age group, less the number of children attending schools in the private sector

plus the number of places reserved for repetition. The following table shows

the estimated demand compared with the population projection:
