are small the same teacher should teach both remedial and resource classes, even combining the two in one class where this proves necessary or convenient. Staffing should reflect this additional commitment. However, as the need for remedial teaching decreases when resource classes are provided, the additional staff required should only reflect the difference in workload between the two teaching duties. The number of teachers required should be added to the number given by the general staffing formula before rounding (see Chapter 5).

10.11

Where a teacher is required for full time resource class teaching he should continue to receive 2 addițional salary increments or their equivalent. However, the application of these increments and the increment for remedial teaching (see para. 5.37) need to be further examined to meet the case of a combination of remedial and resource class teaching.

10.12

Current arrangements for training resource class teachers will need to be re-examined and combining their training with that of remedial teachers would appear to be indicated.
