Basic Qualification Requirements of Child Care Staff
Child Care Supervisor
1.
(a)
(b)
(c)
Hong Kong Certificate of Education with 2 subjects at Grade E or above; or other equivalent educational training;
successful completion of an approved training course;
3 years child care experience of a kind approved by the Director of Social Welfare; and
(d)
aged 25 years or over.
OR
2.
(a)
5 years satisfactory experience as a registered child care worker; and
(b)
aged 28 years or
over;
Child Care Worker
1.
(a)
(b)
Hong Kong Certificate of Education with 2 subjects at Grade E or above; or other equivalent educational training; and
successful completion of an approved training course.
OR

3.
(a)
completion of Form II or Junior Middle II; or other equivalent educational training;
successful completion of an approved training course;
and
3 years child care experience in a registered child care centre before 1st September 1981.
OR
completion of Form III or Junior Middle III; or other equivalent educational training;
successful completion of an approved training course;

and
(c)
aged 18 years or over.
