composition of such teams shall vary according to the subject or subjects to be assessed but shall in every case include two or three members nominated by the HKG. In practice, the nomination will be by the Secretary for Social Services in consultation with the Chairman UPGC and may include Hong Kong UPGC members. The validation advisory teams shall report to the HK Sub-Committee of the CNAA Committee for Academic Policy, which shall forward its findings to UPGC after due deliberation.?

Awards
It is set down for purposes of completeness that the degree awards which are the subject of CNAA advice to UPGC are awards of the H.K. Polytechnic, to be made under authority granted by the Governor-in-Council.
Flexibility
There are a number of unknowns, and it is essential that the validation process outlined in this paper shall remain flexible and capable of rapid response to experience gained in the validation of the first few courses.
5. C.N.A.A. Principles
It is in the nature of the agreement that CNAA shall bring to the process of validation its accumulated expertise. Fifteen years experience of course validation has led CNAA to set down much of its accumulated experience in a set of principles. Those principles, set out in its document "Principles and Regulations for the Award of the Council's First Degrees and Diploma of Higher Education 1979" shall be seen as a useful backcloth to the validation of degrees of the H.K. Polytechnic. They shall not, however, be seen as directly transferrable in their entirety, and CNAA will at any time be responsive to UPGC comments upon them.
