This proposal was discussed recently at a meeting of the Hong Kong Community Council, chaired by H.E. the Acting Governor and attended by the senior representative of the United Nations High Commission for Refugees. Through the Political Adviser's office Dr. Stumpf is aware of previous resettlement efforts in countries such as Argentina, and also of the present proposals being explored, primarily for Hmong tribes people, under UNHCR's aegis.

Dr. Stumpf would like to see Government officials, selected politicians where appropriate, the local UNHCR representative where such exists, and any voluntary agencies that may be favourably disposed towards our
