Since leaving UHCR, he has been special consultant and Chargé de Mission to the United Nations Secretary-General. In this capacity, he has undertaken missions, inter alia, to the Middle East in 1978 to negotiate a cease-fire and humanitarian aid to the victims of conflict in Lebanon and to several capitals in 1979 in connexion with the United Nations Conference on Transfer of Science and Technology which took place in Vienna in August last year. Sadruddin Aga Khan, who lives in Geneva, is recipient of several high awards and distinctions from various countries. He has also received the United Nations Human Rights Award from the General Assembly as well as the Dag Hammerskjold Honorary Award.
