applied to refugees in Malaysia, Thailand, Macau, etc. The Hong Kong
Immigration Department has expressed themselves willing and able to undertake
this task on our behalf.
Mr Denton of Ockenden Venture proved an ideal choice as the voluntary agency
representative. His approach to resettlement is realistic and he did not hesitate to specify the current difficulties in resettlement and unemployment
to UNHCR, the Press and to the refugees themselves. The Hong Kong Immigration
Department was, as always, most helpful and the visit could not have proceeded
without their invaluable assistance.
