The position in respect of Vietnamese refugees has deteriorated in June as you will see from the figures and the attached copy of a brief which the Governor is taking with him to London. In these circumstances, and with the number of offers for resettlement falling, we can expect Unofficials to be taking an increasing interest in the problem. I am due to answer a question in the Legislative Council from Lydia Dunn on 24th June. This will give us an opportunity to note the mood of Unofficials. What, unhappily, seems already clear is that we shall still have a substantial number of refugees here at the end of 1981.
