The premises comprised a four storey pro-war building and were surrendered to the Crowm on 2nd June 1978.

The design of the lass Transit Station at this location required the removal of all venerdals on the Cheung Sha Wan Road and Kwei Lir: Street frontages. These verandahs formed a very substantial portion of the building and in consequence it was estimated that substantial savings could be effected by total demolition rather then by demolishing verandahs only and reinstating extemal walls. It was also apparent that the remaining structure would 'require constant monitoring so that any potential danger caused by MR construction works could be inmediately identified.

In addition Housing Department advised that some families were likely to be split up as only those actually occupying the verandah areas were eligible for rehousing. This was felt to be completely undesirable.

The site itself is small and as all surrounding properties have been redeveloped there is little prospect of any substantial development taking place when MR construction works are completed, the meantime, the Corporation have pade it known that there is a critical shortage of works areas in Shan Shui Fo and have requested the use of this site.

The premises comprised a seven storey post-van building in multiple cwnership which was acquired by resumption on 17th October 1978.

Due to the construction of the Tovon Van Extension, an additional station entrance was required in this area. After consideration of various alternatives it was established that the only feasible location was in Playing Field Road adjoining this property. On site tests revealed that the foundations of the building projected approximately 1.1 m. into the street and that the entrance could not be constructed unless the foundations (and therefore the building) vore mcmoved.
