Introduction
This memorandum seeks approval for the grant to the Mass Transit Railway Corporation by private treaty of the following two sites on the basic terms set out in paragraphs 3(a)(v) and 3(b) (v) below :
(a) 769/769A Nathan Road (to be known as
Kowloon Inland Lot 10653)
(b) 241 Cheung Sha Wan Road (to be known
as New Kowloon Inland Lot 5790)
Background
On 26th June 1979, having considered memorandum XCR (79) 144 (Annex A), the Executive Council advised and the Acting Governor ordered, inter alia :

(a) that the seven sites listed in paragraph 1(a)
of the memorandum should be granted by private treaty to the Mass Transit Railway Corporation on the basic terms set out in paragraphs 4,8, 12, 17, 21, 25 and 29 of Annex B of the memorandum; and
(b) that approval in principle should be given for the
grant by private treaty to the Mass Transit Railway Corporation of the sites listed in paragraph 1(b) of the memorandum on the basic terms set out in paragraph 9 of Annex C of the memorandum.
The Council noted that a further memorandum would
be submitted setting out the terms for the grant by private treaty of the sites listed in paragraph 1(b).
The Mass Transit Railway Corporation has now applied formally for the grant of the two sites set out in paragraph 1 above for development.
(a) 769/769A Nathan Road (to be known as Kowloon Inland Lot 10653)
(i)
The site has an area of about 171 square metres and is shown coloured pink on the attached plan at Annex B. The site is zoned for Residential (Zone 1) development
on the approved Tai Kok Tsui Outline Zoning Plan No. LK 3/11 and was previously occupied by a seven-storey post-war building in multiple ownership.
