Significant points emerging from the meetings are:
ipoper in
construction is estimated to take at least eight years. That is to say, power from the proposed nuclear plant would not be available until 1988 at the earliest;
D)
having regard to the combined demand of Hong Kong and of Guangdong and Guangxi provinces (which provinces would be interconnected by 1985), KEC thought that the initial installation should comprise two 1,000 MW units; ....

:
Guangdong and Guangxi would be able to use approximately one-third to one half of the total output of the proposed station, and the remaining one-half to two-thirds (ie) 1,000-1,300 MW) would be available for sale to Hong Kong;
the cost of an initial installation comprising 2 x 1,000 MW(¦ ̧ units is estimated at US $2, 000 million (about HK$10,000 million). (Note: It appears that these estimates are at 1979 prices. If so, then inflation in 8 years time at an assumed rate of 8% per annum would increase the cost by at least 50% to US$3,700 million (about HK$18, 500 million));
