Further to my telegram no INDUS 128 to you and the letter from Brian Bender (UKREP) of 19 November to Miss Brimelow CRE1, Department of Trade, of 19 November which was copied to Mr P Westmacott, B E Paris et al I would be grateful if you would let me know the situation on the above, as seen from Paris, in view of the British Clock and Watch Manufacturers' Association's approach to us for information on what precisely the French are doing and whether this is indeed contrary to EEC and/or GATT rules.
